8/28/19 - WFD announced ISO Class 2 rating! - More info, click here

The Whitestown Fire Department is welcoming the community to join us in celebrating 90 proud years of fire protection service. The celebration will be an Open House event on October 11th at WFD Station 71. We will celebrate the history of the department and provide a look at what the future holds as well. And along with food and drinks… we’ll have cake!

After almost a century of service to southeastern Boone County, the WFD has changed more in the last 10 years than in the previous 80. The WFD has gone from a volunteer bucket brigade in the late 1800’s to a full career department with the latest in technology and equipment. We will explore the various iterations of the department, look at our full history of apparatus, and have plenty of photos and videos to be seen.

Most importantly, we will honor and recognize some of our most influential members from the past, and celebrate the service of those former members, many of whom will be in attendance.
