On September 11th, 2012 the Whitestown Police Department and the Whitestown Fire Department graduated the first class of Public Safety Officers, and began the first PSO program in the state of Indiana.  The six graduates of this class were trained in law enforcement, basic firefighting and emergency medical care. These officers will fill multiple roles and expand on their training in both law enforcement and fire/EMS.  Having these officers available as a first response is a force multiplier that will offer a new level of service to the citizens of Whitestown and southern Boone County.
